ABOUT DR. MANEJIAS

Dr. Elizabeth Manejías is a fellowship-trained board certified physician in both Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Primary Care Sports Medicine.  She is currently Assistant Attending Physiatrist at the Hospital for Special Surgery HSS and Assistant Professor of Clinical Rehabilitation Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College.  As an Institute of Functional Medicine- IFM Certified Practitioner, she specializes in integrative approaches to musculoskeletal injuries. Dr. Manejías believes in addressing the root cause of illness and will help patients identify contributing lifestyle and nutritional factors. 

 Dr. Manejías completed a fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in spine and sports medicine focusing in the specialized care of the performing artist from dancers to musicians in 2007. She is active in the performing arts community in NYC and abroad. She offers a holistic approach to the management of conditions common in the performing artist, athletes, active individuals or those aspiring to be more active.

Certified in medical acupuncture, she integrates the use of myofascial based acupuncture and trigger point dry needling into the care of painful musculoskeletal conditions.​

She is devoted to assisting her patients in finding the best way to health by exploring the contributing factors leading to illness or pain and treating the underlying issue from the root up. She combines the best of both western medicine and integrative methods such as acupuncture, dry needling, trigger point injections and offers alternatives to steroid injections and pain medications. As a practitioner in functional medicine she will delve deeper into your unique environmental, nutritional, lifestyle, and genetic contributors to health to create a personalized treatment plan.

Dr. Manejías invites patients who believe in the importance of the physician-patient relationship and the ability to be active participants in their care.

Dr. Manejías also provides consultations in functional and longevity medicine for existing patients at the Regenerative Sportscare Institute, located on Manhattan's Upper East Side.   ​​
